Once upon a time, unlike today, most citizens of the United States of America knew what was going on—at least those who cared enough to find out. I know. I know. For half of America, that’s hard to believe. After all, nowadays the only thing you can absolutely depend on is that much of the news really is fake. Either by commission or omission, it gets modified before you get it and you would be irresponsibly foolish to bet your life on its accuracy.

But it was not always that way. Trust me on this because I witnessed it. There was a time when you could depend on most of the media to tell you the truth. There weren’t any 24-hour news channels on TV back then. People got their news, opinions, and analysis from newspapers or the 6 o’clock or 11 o’clock TV news, or the radio. Even so, it was not where and when they got their news; more importantly, it was its accuracy and who gave it to them.

Here’s one good example: For almost 20 years, an American journalist by the name of Walter Cronkite was the anchor of CBS Evening News with Walter Cronkite. Over time, he became known as “the most trusted man in America.” Every evening, from 1962 to 1981, millions of people turned on their TVs to hear what Mr. Cronkite had to say. He had an aura of sincerity and authority about him, and a pleasing voice. Measured by current standards, he was also an old-school journalist. For those of you who don’t know what an old-school journalist is, below, is a definition of journalism as it should be practiced, from the Merriam Webster dictionary.

“… a direct presentation of facts or description of events without an attempt at interpretation.” Imagine that! Reporters and journalists were taught to not mess with the news after they discovered it. They didn’t tweak it to frame a biased message. They gave it to us straight even if it went against their personal beliefs or political wishes. They gave us pure, honest news. They informed us with the truth, which educated us so that we knew what was happening and who was doing what.

For the voters, it was authentic, dependable food for thought. They were armed with the information they needed to make informed decisions about what and who they would vote for or against. It was precisely what the designers of our nation had intended. In fact, the founders gave the media wide latitude with the understanding that they would honestly inform the citizens of the nation. They knew how important that was. They knew that with an ignorant, uninformed electorate the new republic would soon be overtaken and controlled by an authoritarian government of one form or another. In order for their new representative republic to survive and flourish, a well-informed citizenry was not merely desirable, it was critical.

So, what happened? Where did the “Walter Cronkites” go? Who is the most trusted person in America today? I bet you’re having the same problem I am. While there are many media people I trust, I can’t think of any with the universal approval that Walter Cronkite had. One reason for that is the nature of our culture compared to the Cronkite era. Sadly, and for a variety of reasons—regarding truth and the character of our nation—we are a less honest, and therefore, a less honorable people than we were back then.

This cultural/societal shift can be directly connected to an increasingly corrupt media, a left-biased educational system, and a politically corrupt Democratic Party, which for decades has been adopting evermore socialistic policies. The resulting product of a majority of the media is left-wing propaganda. The so-called “mainstream media” are, and have been for decades, the propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. There’s not a single Walter Cronkite among them, and their news cannot be trusted for accuracy. In fact, they have created one thing our founders feared most—a large population of uninformed and misinformed citizens.

Even though we have overcome many prejudices and made significant progress on issues of race, gender, and overall equality, the Democrat Left will neither recognize those accomplishments nor let go of those issues—issues they dishonestly use to divide us in order to create coalitions they hobble together for votes. Lest you have any doubts regarding their dishonesty and their deceitful partnership with the media, read on.

A very short list of things the media got wrong in the past few years.

• Donald Trump colluded with the Russians: This was an audacious, blatantly false accusation. They said Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 presidential election and that he could be a secret Russian agent. To pull off this outrageous lie, the Democrat operatives enlisted corrupt FBI agents who paved the way for the appointment of Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Mueller spent over $40 million of taxpayer money and took over two years to tell us there was no evidence of collusion by Mr. Trump when he knew after two weeks that Trump was innocent.
• Ironically, there was collusion with the Russians. But it was not between Donald Trump and the Russians. It was between the Russians and Hillary Clinton, her campaign, the Democratic National Committee, the vice-president, and the president of the United States of America. They partnered with a former British spy, Christopher Steele and the Russians, to compile a fake dossier on Trump. It was intended to destroy candidate Trump’s reputation. Remarkably, they acted with the approval and participation of President Obama and Vice President Biden—the man who is now the President of the United States of America. This was unprecedented in U.S. history, yet, apparently, no one has been prosecuted for this corruption at the highest levels of our government.
• The Muslim ban: The media and Democrats accused President Trump of banning all Muslims from entering the United States, but there was no such ban. Trump banned citizens from certain nations that lacked adequate records and controls regarding the pandemic. Out of over 50 Muslim nations, less than 10 were banned and it had nothing to do with their religion. If it had been a Muslim ban, all 50 nations would have been included.
• The media claimed that the 2017 tax cuts were only for the rich: Under the Trump tax cuts, the average middle-class family income increased by about $6000 per year. Blue-collar workers saw their salaries increase faster than the salaries of their bosses. Along with cutting and streamlining regulations, the Trump tax cuts resulted in, perhaps, the most broadly robust economy in U.S. history. Trump accomplished that in less than four years. For comparison, in the eight years of the Obama administration, average middle-class income rose by a mere $400 and economic recovery from a recession was the slowest since the great depression. Trump tax cuts provided huge benefits to the middle class.
• Ukraine impeachment of Trump: Trump was guilty of exactly what? Nothing, of course. That’s why he was found to be not guilty of whatever they tried to concoct. It was one more disgraceful display from the Democrats and their complicit media. Once again, they spent millions of dollars of taxpayer’s money and embarrassed our country in front of the entire world.
• Hunter Biden’s Laptop: What laptop? The Democrats and the left-wing media hid the entire story from the public until after the 2016 presidential election was over. The laptop, which is in possession of the FBI, is loaded with negative material about Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, and his sketchy, corrupt relationships with foreign entities. Even worse, the revelations on Hunter’s laptop made it quite clear to any objective observer that the entire Biden family, including Joe Biden, was involved in very questionable activities while profiting from Joe Biden’s political position as vice president. The media even ignored a highly credible witness by the name of Tony Bobulinski who was a partner of Hunter Biden and who corroborated and added to the troubling material on Hunter’s laptop.
• Democrats and the media claimed that the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation: Sure, except for one little problem; Hunter Biden’s laptop. Oops.
• Double standard: Hunter Biden used the “N” word multiple times in text messages with his lawyer and it was not reported by the main stream media. The indiscretions of the son of the President of the United States are ignored, that is, unless they are the sons of a president whose last name is Trump. Yet, much to their dismay, they couldn’t find any dirt on the Trump boys. It wasn’t from lack of trying because they really, really tried very hard.
• Georgia’s new ballot integrity law is the “new Jim Crow,” was dutifully reported by the left-wing media, otherwise known as the mouthpiece of the Democrat party. Yet, there is no truth to it. The new voting law in Georgia has no relationship whatsoever to Jim Crow laws. In fact, the really disgusting thing is that, once again, Democrats imply atrocious behavior by Republicans when, in fact, it is the Democrats who own all the guilt. Jim Crow laws, along with slavery itself, the KKK, and racism in general are all Democrat behaviors. Jim Crow laws were a racist concoction of the Democrat party, not the Republican party. They were created by the Democrats to keep Blacks from realizing the American dream, while Republicans fought and died to make sure Blacks had the same access to the American dream as everyone else. The Republican ballot integrity laws make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. Does anyone have a problem with that? Protecting the very precious right of every American citizen to choose who will lead us should be demanded by all Americans. But, clearly, it does not appeal to the Democrats who want to make it easier to vote and easier to cheat. Why else would they be pushing massive ballot harvesting, which makes it impossible to know if whoever is voting is a living U.S. citizen and eligible to vote? Their purpose could not be more obvious.
• Trump gassed protesters for a photo op: Sure, and he tripped old ladies every chance he got. President Trump did no such thing. Here’s a quote from the Wall Street Journal:“U.S. Park Police did not clear Lafayette Park and the nearby area of protesters on June 1, 2020, so President Donald Trump could walk from the White House over to St. John’s Church, but learned of his interest in surveying the site hours after they already had begun planning to clear the area to put up new fencing,” according to a new watchdog report. In other words, it never happened. Yet, you would never know it. The corrupt media reported the false story in headline after headline, and when it became clear that it never happened their corrections were buried where hardly anyone would notice it—that is, if they issued a correction at all.
• Trump called soldiers suckers: Everyone who accompanied President Trump and who was close to him during the time he was supposed to have called soldiers “suckers,” said they heard no such remark by the president. The truth is that Donald Trump has always been a big supporter of our troops and our veterans, and he expressed it many times in many positive ways. That’s why our military personnel and our veterans always voted in significant majorities for President Trump.
• The lab leak theory is a conspiracy: For more than a year, Democrats and their media cronies, along with social networking sites, have condemned anyone who even mildly suggested that COVID-19 may have started via a leak at the Wuhan, China Virology Center. Among other things, they said that anyone who believed it was subscribing to an unfounded conspiracy theory. Now, it is beginning to appear that Mr. Trump and many others, especially on the right, were correct once again. The point is, that however it turns out, there has always been credible evidence to suggest that it did indeed begin at the Wuhan lab. But perhaps the question that is often overlooked is, why are the Democrats and their media lap dogs so determined to prevent any meaningful investigation into the true genesis of COVID-19?
• There won’t be a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of 2020: Whenever President Trump suggested that we could have an effective vaccine by the end of 2020, the left didn’t miss an opportunity to belittle him and to state definitively that it was virtually impossible and that it would take between two to ten years. President Trump launched Operation Warp Speed and for the first time in history, we had not one, but two highly effective vaccines—not in two to ten years, but in nine months. It was a truly remarkable achievement and because of President Trump’s leadership and our dedicated scientists, literally countless of millions of lives have been, and will continue to be saved by the vaccines. However, do not expect any acknowledgment whatsoever, let alone praise, from the left-wing political machine. If Trump cured cancer, the Left would berate him for putting so many medical researchers out of work. Make no mistake, they are thoroughly corrupt.

That was a very short list of false stories repeatedly pushed by the media. So, when President Trump called it fake news, he revealed the truth about the media. But it was not only what they made up and reported as real news; it was also what they failed to report that made them so dishonest. For example, the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop and the cesspool of derogatory information that was found on it.

These are not media mistakes, they are intentional. The left-wing media is nothing more than a propaganda arm of the Democratic Party. To think otherwise, is not only naïve, it is a real threat to a positive future for our great nation. The Democratic Party, much of our educational system, and the left-wing media are determined to transform the United States of America into an entirely different kind of country than what has made us the only nation on planet Earth where millions of people want in and no one wants out.

Our founders created a nation of the people, by the people, and for the people. They gave the power to the people and it is up to we the people to keep it. To do that, we need to be informed and armed with the truth.
